Just returned home from our 4-day marathon in Florida. I haven't been able to catch up on the Clack or Jill's cellcert info, so please excuse any repeats.
I'll tell you more about the Hard Rock, Melbourne, the first Clearwater concert, the "Hunter story," and my Meet and Greet on the BEVR, but please 'cuse me if I just tell you about last night right here on the PPs. It was just tooooooo good!!!!
First, I'm in tears just reading the little that I've already read from last night's concert. It was the most emotionally charged Clay concert I've ever been to. The few tissues that we had in our purses were not enough, so the sleeves of our shirts had to suffice and are probably now stained with mascara!
It started out really cute with William Joseph telling us after one of his songs "You wouldn't believe what I'm hearing up here." Apparently Clay was singing Invisible to him through his ear piece. Then they turned off the lights and sound track on him. They tried twice to wrap the stage curtain around him while he was playing. So we was totally on his own and said "I've never faced this situation before." Then he proceeds to turn the piano bench sideways, laid down on his back on it, pulled himself part way under the piano, and played with his arms reaching up and onto the piano keys. Too cute.
Just a few highlights of the concert. First, for all of us Broads who are interested in his hair (and I think we can all agree that this hasn't been his best hair series of concerts), he finally gave up on the parted rooster hair and had it comed down beautifully for the last two concerts. It reminded me a little of his Emmy hair, except blonder.
For me, TFN was totally superb!!! I guess you've heard how he changed it up at the end and hit notes that I didn't even know existed. Major applause and standing O's during that and many other songs. He gave every song his total effort, and then some. We let him know how much we loved him!
Jojo was sitting in front of us, and I asked her several times "Did you get that?" She said she was trying, but that the batteries had run out 3 times.
A touching part was when Clay had snapped his fingers to "freeze" Allison in the scene, and he went over and kissed her on the cheek. She started crying. Well, that was just to much. Tears!!!
The intros were heart rendering ... lengthy and personal. Quiana was crying, Briana was crying, Beverly still crying, and sweet little Gregory was hugging Clay tightly around his legs. Jill, your descriptions of the love were accurate. It was just running over the stage and down through the audience, and we were all sobbing.
Then came DSIAFCD!!! God, what can I say? It was dramatic, sexy, and so thud worthy. There was thunderous screaming and applauding. Clay did his best yet on "Oh, baby, that's a fact" and got tickled because he knew he outright killed us!!!
We knew that we had been a good audience and that he would sing Good News. And, as we waited for that to start, we hear this hysterical screaming coming from the top side of the venue,
and as we looked around, there is CLAY in the spotlight. There is such screaming and shrieking that it took a minute to hear that he was singing WAYDNYE. He makes his way down the steps, stopping to exchange a few major EFs, and dancing with a sweet little white haired lady. He waved and disappeared out the door at the bottom of the stairs.
Oh God, it's over!!!! He's gone!!! We didn't want to leave, so we hung around to take pics of WJ in the lobby and tried to catch just one more glimpse of our precious Clay, but he was gone.
The Broads that I saw and talked to were Carol(FL), Ethel and Deby. There may have been others. The funniest remark from Ethel had to do with a girl who, in total silence before one of his 2nd half songs, screamed "Clay I want to have your baby." This was during the concert on the 30th. There were major moans and groans from the audience. Ethel said that if she had been sitting nearby, she would have said "Shut up, bitch, before I hit you upside the head." Ethel is a gem, and I love her. She was on the "no flash" patrol each night.
It usually takes awhile before PCD sets in, but I'm already feeling it. There were so many highs during these concerts, and one major low, but I'll share those with you on the BEVRs when I have time. My M&G was probably different from any that I've heard of. I'll never be the same. It was magical.
I love you, Clay Aiken!!!
